Easy to install

Install them yourself in just ten minutes. All you need is a screwdriver and some patience. The first step is to take off the original cover. This has to be removed before the new cover can be installed.
After you have removed the cover, you can employ a flathead to remove the four main attachment clips from the driver side of the fob assembly. These are marked with red in the image below. Take note of the yellow tabs that have to be disconnected.
After removing the battery replace it with a brand new 3 volt coin cell battery. Make sure that the "+" positive side of the battery is pointing to the opening of the fob and that the"-" negative side is facing the rubber buttons.
Attach the mirror cover to the passenger side by aligning locating tabs. Once you've completed this, insert the driver side fob back in your vehicle and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is functioning properly, the parking lights should be lit and the doors will close.

The key fob is equipped with an internal microchip that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert your Fiat key it presses a button in the ignition switch. This is used to remind you of the "key-inignition". The BCM will then be able to read the transponder inside the key fob and confirm that it's genuine.
